Neil Mukherjee: A Versatile Musician with a Unique Sound

Neil Mukherjee is an award-winning composer and guitarist hailing from Kolkata, India. A Grade 8 musician in Western classical guitar and music theory from Trinity College of Music in London, Neil is renowned for his flamenco and fingerstyle guitar playing. He is also adept in various styles of music, including Indian classical forms.

Neil’s musical journey began at the age of 11 when his grandmother gifted him a guitar for Durga Puja. Since then, he has studied with various renowned musicians and has been constantly working towards stretching the boundaries of his musical Knowledge through studies, experience, and practice.

Neil’s strengths lie in his ability to seamlessly blend different musical styles and create a unique sound that is distinctly his own. His custom 8-string guitar, with two additional high strings, has given him the ability to explore new sounds and push the boundaries of his music even further.

Apart from his solo work, Neil has also worked with some of the biggest names in the Indian music industry, including A.R. Rahman, Yuvan Shankar Raja, Shankar-Ehsan-Loy, Pritam, and Vidyasagar. His experience as a sessions guitarist has further honed his skills as a versatile musician who can adapt to different musical styles and genres.

Neil’s compositions are a reflection of his diverse musical influences and his expertise in blending different styles of music. His album “Parchaiyyan” is a testament to his ability to create soulful, evocative music that resonates with listeners on a deep level.
