EXPERIENCED PROFESSIONAL
Mixing requires highly technical and creative skills at the same time. For professional results, you need to work with an experienced professional!
Mixing is not something you can learn to do well in a short time, or without real world training.
I’m a Mixing Engineer who has been involved in music all his life and has been producing, recording and mixing music since 1999.
Producing, recording, and mixing music has been my full-time profession since 2004.
ANALOG OR DIGITAL?
I take a hybrid approach to mixing, working mostly in the box with a huge collection of all the best plugins, but also splitting out key tracks, groups, or even the whole mix to his collection of analog compressors.
While nice gear certainly helps, are the ears and not the gear that makes all the difference!
GET MIXED!
If you have questions about how all of this works, please contact me.
Then, when you ready to submit your music for mixing consideration, send it to me.
I’m fairly busy with mixing, as well as my own productions, so I’m selective about the projects I accept.
I love Mixing , so I will take on most projects that I feel I can do a good job mixing.
However, if I feel that the quality of the recorded tracks are not something I can do a good job with, I don’t want to waste anyone’s time or money, and won’t accept the project.
FAQ
Most frequent questions and answers
My goal is for you to be completely satisfied with the mixing I do!
However, I’m not a mind reader, and without proper communication, I may take the mix in a totally different direction that what you had in mind.
I’m usually pretty good at judging what will work best for a song, and we can usually work together to get the mix to where you want it without any extra revisions or charges.
The key, is WORKING TOGETHER!
This means we need to discuss the song in detail first via phone or email, and you need to provide me with as much direction as you can, so that I have a clear view of how you want your mix to sound.
Audio samples, or links to other similar songs that have the type of sound you are going for are always a big help!
I do NOT charge you for my time when discussing your project in detail or transferring files back and forth.
That is all included in my very reasonable pricing.
Do not send me projects with multiple takes that need to be comped, or with vocals that need tuning, or with tracks that have extra sounds or noises that don’t belong in the song.
All those things are part of the production and recording process, and I will charge you extra for the time to make your tracks ready for mixing
You may have some processing and effects on your tracks that you used while recording or for your rough mix.
Unless those are an integral part of the sound (such as distortion on a guitar), they need to be turned off!
If you have tons of reverb, chorus, and/or delay, on all the tracks you send me, I can’t remove those types of effects, and will be extremely limited in what I can do for you.
Please read Preparing your tracks for more details.
Quick mastered versions of the mix are provided so that you can hear what the mix might sound like once mastered to current industry loudness levels.
Professional Mastering can be added.

I use Protools as primary system and Logic as secondary but I’m able to work also in cubase and nuendo in case
PREPARING YOUR TRACKS
These are some basic guidelines to help you prepare your session for a successful mix. They aren’t steadfast requirements, but it would be helpful so that I can spend my time mixing your song, rather than fixing things that weren’t done correctly.
SESSION FORMAT
I use Pro Tools HD 10 to mix. If you are using Pro Tools, in any version or format, you can simply send me your session and I will be able to load it without further changes.
BOUNCE YOUR TRACKS
If you are using another DAW, such as Logic, Cubase, etc. then you will need to bounce out your individual tracks as WAV or AIFF files.
I prefer 24 bit WAV, but if you are already using another format, that’s fine. Consult the user documentation for your DAW for explicit instructions for bouncing tracks.
Bounce/Export Tracks
When you bounce your tracks, please bring the faders to unity gain (0). If your faders are very low, the resulting bounced files will also have a very low volume.
Also, please remove any effects such as reverbs or delays. The only exception to this is if it is an effect that is an integral part of the sound (for example a sweeping filter on a synth).
When in question, just bounce two copies of the sound, one with the effect and one without.
Alignement
Important, make sure each audio file is bounced from the beginning of the session, even if that means there is blank space.
This way, everything will line up correctly when I import the files into Pro Tools.
SEND ME THE SESSION FILES
If you already have a method you prefer to use, that’s fine. If you haven’t sent large files before, I recommend using either Dropbox or wetransfer.com.
Feel free to contact me if you need help getting the files transferred.
INTERNET MIXING PROCESS
Once I decide to take on your project, and we have discussed what you are going for in detail, you will send me the files (dropbox, We transfer or other file transfer service).
I will then work on the first pass of the mix and then send you a high quality MP3 file to listen to.
You take as much time as you need to listen, and then send me back a list of any changes you want.
Revisions
If a revision is needed, I’ll make the requested changes and send you a new MP3 to listen to.
Again, you can take as much time as you need, and then send me back another list of changes.
I’ll then make the second set of revisions and send you another MP3.
After that, if you need additional revisions, I will do them at 25 Euros per set of revisions.
If it’s just one more very small/easy change, I probably won’t charge you for the additional revision, but that’s at my sole discretion.
Once you sign off on the final mix, and pay the remaining balance, I will deliver the final 24 bit mix files (ready to send to mastering).
If you also purchased mastering, I will also deliver the final masters in whatever format you need, as well as the un-mastered 24 bit mix files.
