Tata is a word to refer to the mother earth here in these lands where I live... I wrote this piece as a way to honour our ancient mother who nurtures us in such a loving way...
Tata has a pattern in the lower register that is always repeating... this pattern represents the earth... always moving yet stable and firm... while graceful themes appear and develop in the upper registers... this piece is one of my favourites...
